Isaiah 49:1–3
- A — 1 — The LORD called me from the womb, from the body of my mother he named my name.
- B — 2a — He made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand he hid me;
- B' — 2b — he made me a polished arrow; in his quiver he hid me away.
- A' — 3 — he said to me, You are my servant, Israel, in whom I will be glorified.
Isaiah 49:5–6
- A — 5a — the LORD says, formed me from the womb to be his servant
- B — 5b — to bring Jacob back; Israel gathered
- C — 5c — honored in eyes of the LORD; God has become my strength
- A' — 6a — he says: too light a thing to be my servant
- B' — 6b — raise up tribes of Jacob, bring back preserved of Israel
- C' — 6c — light for the nations; salvation to the end of the earth
