  • The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me — anointed to bring good news to the poor, bind up the brokenhearted, proclaim liberty to the captives, freedom to the prisoners 1
  • To proclaim the year of the LORD's favor and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn 2
  • To give mourners in Zion a crown of beauty for ashes, the oil of gladness for mourning, a garment of praise for a faint spirit — called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the LORD 3

  • Strangers shall tend your flocks; foreigners shall be your plowmen and vinedressers 5
