1st Chiasm (Treasures)
- A. 19a Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth
- B. 19b where moth and rust doth corrupt
- C. 19c and where thieves break through and steal
- A'. 20a But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven
- B'. 20b where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt
- C'. 20c and where thieves do not break through nor steal
- A''. 21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
2nd Chiasm (The Eye)
- 2A. 22a The light of the body is the eye
- 2B. 22b if therefore thine eye be single
- 2C. 22c thy whole body shall be full of light
- 2B'. 23a But if thine eye be evil
- 2C'. 23b thy whole body shall be full of darkness
- 2A'. 23c If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
3rd Chiasm (Two Masters)
- 3A. 24a No man can serve two masters
- 3B. 24b for either he will hate the one
- 3C. 24c and love the other
- 3C'. 24d or else he will hold to the one
- 3B'. 24e and despise the other
- 3A'. 24f Ye cannot serve God and mammon
