Connection Method(s): Redemptive-Historical Progression, Typology (Direct, Forward-Looking) — The Son of Man reaping earth's harvest consummates the firstfruits trajectory: from single sheaf (Leviticus) to Christ's resurrection (1 Cor 15:20) to the final gathering of all who belong to Him at history's end.

Christological Connection: The complete trajectory of the Feast of First Fruits culminates here. Leviticus 23:9-14: Israel waves the first sheaf of barley before the LORD on the day after the Sabbath. 1 Corinthians 15:20: Christ rises on the exact day of First Fruits, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. Revelation 14:14-16: The Son of Man reaps the harvest of the earth—gathering all who belong to Him. The pattern is agricultural and eschatological: Firstfruits (singular sheaf) → Full Harvest (entire crop). Christ's resurrection was the firstfruits; the final resurrection is the full harvest. The escalation is cosmic: Israel's feast involved one sheaf guaranteeing one year's barley crop; Christ's resurrection involves one Man guaranteeing the eternal resurrection of all believers from all ages. Matthew 13:43: "Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father." The harvest imagery assures believers: just as farmers expect the harvest after seeing the firstfruits, we expect the resurrection having seen Christ rise. The firstfruits guarantee the harvest.

Application: Are you ready for the harvest? Revelation 14:14-16 depicts the end of history—the final gathering. Jesus taught, "The harvest is the end of the age" (Matthew 13:39). Two groups: the wheat (gathered into the barn, heaven) and the tares (burned, judgment). Which are you? If you belong to Christ, you are part of the harvest He will gather. Christ the firstfruits rose; you will rise. But if you do not belong to Christ, you face the winepress of God's wrath (Revelation 14:17-20). The harvest is coming. The warning is urgent: "Now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation" (2 Corinthians 6:2). The firstfruits have appeared (Christ rose); the full harvest approaches (His return). Live in light of the harvest. Endure suffering, knowing the reaper is coming. Labor faithfully, knowing nothing done for Christ is in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58). The harvest is certain—the firstfruits guarantee it.
