Context: After Jesus' death on the cross, soldiers came to break the legs of the crucified to hasten death. Finding Jesus already dead, one soldier pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water flowed out. John emphasizes eyewitness testimony (19:35) and scriptural fulfillment (19:36-37).
