Significance: The third wilderness quotation establishes exclusive worship of Yahweh as fundamental. Jesus embodies perfect covenant faithfulness that Israel failed to maintain, repeatedly falling into idolatry. All three temptation responses come from Deuteronomy 6-8, Israel's wilderness testing period.
