Anchor Text: Gen 1:28 — The Adamic Commission

Significance: Paul reads the Adamic commission Christologically through Psalm 8. In the resurrection argument he names Christ the Last Adam (1 Cor 15:45) and grounds his reign in a composite citation: "He must reign until He has put all His enemies under His feet" (Ps 110:1) fused with "God has put everything under His feet" (Ps 8:6, which itself re-articulates Gen 1:28's dominion / subdue clause). The Adamic mandate to rule the earth is thus exercised by the risen Christ in inaugurated form — he is now subduing every enemy, the last being death, until the consummation when the Son delivers the kingdom to the Father. What the first Adam forfeited and no Adam-figure could secure, the Last Adam achieves; his dominion is the creation commission fulfilled and being brought to completion. Per the ATN §4 this is a composite citation (Ps 110:1 + Ps 8:6, Gen 1:28 mediated through Ps 8) functioning as typological fulfillment — the Last Adam's inaugurated dominion.
