Significance: Paul modifies the LXX: he changes "every man" to "everyone" and changes "the words of this law" to "the things written in the book of the law" (possibly from Deuteronomy 30:10). This reveals Paul's non-mechanical method—he feels no compulsion to quote verbatim. The modification draws attention to "the law of Moses in general and in toto, not about a specific part of it." When Paul speaks of "as many as are of law-works," he has primarily in mind the Judaizers and anyone following their teaching. The Judaizers are the prime expression of people falling under the curse, though this doesn't mean Deuteronomy 27:26 has one exclusive application—Paul includes Gentiles at paragraph's end (3:14), even though strictly speaking Gentiles could hardly be conceived as under the law's curse.
