Significance: Ezekiel 38:2-8 introduces Gog of the land of Magog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, who is summoned with a vast coalition of nations to attack restored Israel "in the latter years." Revelation 20:8 directly names "Gog and Magog" as the nations deceived by Satan "in the four corners of the earth" gathered for the final battle. The verbal identification is explicit, making this one of the clearest OT allusions in Revelation 20. The escalation is significant: Ezekiel's Gog attacks Israel's restored land; Revelation's Gog and Magog attack "the camp of the saints and the beloved city" — the entire eschatological people of God. Ezekiel envisions a post-restoration threat; Revelation places this threat after the millennial reign, showing the final rebellion before the consummation.
