Significance: Isaiah 43:19 announces, "See, I am doing a new thing! (hinneni oseh hadashah) Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?" Revelation 21:5 declares from the throne, "Behold, I make all things new" (Idou kaina poiō panta). Both texts use the divine "Behold/See" (hinneh / idou) followed by the creation of "new" (hadash / kainos) realities. In Isaiah, the "new thing" is the second exodus from Babylonian exile — a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. In Revelation, the "new thing" is the entire cosmos renewed. The escalation is from national restoration to cosmic re-creation. The use of poiō (present tense: "I am making") suggests ongoing creative activity that has already begun in Christ and reaches consummation in the new creation. Isaiah's new exodus was a foretaste; the new heaven and earth is the substance.
