Anchor Text: Gen 1:28 — The Adamic Commission
Significance: The canon closes on the Adamic commission completely fulfilled. The Eden imagery cluster — the river of life, the tree of life, the throne of God and the Lamb, and the removal of "any curse" (reversing Gen 3:17-19) — frames the saints who "will reign forever and ever," the dominion / rule (rādâ) clause of Genesis 1:28 realized at last in cosmic scope. Eden has expanded to fill the whole new creation, exactly as the commission to fill and subdue the earth always intended; the priest-kings serve and behold God's face while reigning over the consummated cosmos. The canon's final vision is the canon's first command, brought to its goal: where the first Adam lost dominion under the curse, the redeemed in the Last Adam exercise it endlessly under unmediated divine presence. Per the ATN §4 this is the blueprint/prototype use — Genesis 1-2 as the template for Revelation 21-22's consummation — functioning as the consummative typological fulfillment of the Adamic commission.
