1 Chronicles 15:3 to Deuteronomy 12:26

Text: 1 Chronicles 15:3

OT Text Referred to: Deuteronomy 12:26

Subject: Place for the ark (C) (* see place network)

Source: Treasury of Scripture Knowledge

Reference Type: Echo

Connection Method(s): Longitudinal Theme

Significance: Deuteronomy 12:26 directs Israel to bring consecrated offerings and vow offerings to "the place the LORD will choose." David's gathering of all Israel to transfer the ark to Jerusalem (1 Chr 15:3) establishes the site toward which such offerings are to be directed. The Chronicler's emphasis on proper Levitical procedures during this transfer demonstrates that David's centralization of worship at Jerusalem follows Mosaic norms for both the location and the manner of approaching God's presence.
