Significance: Both texts introduce Jotham's reign with the standard regnal formula: age 25, 16-year reign, mother Jerusha. Both give the positive evaluation: "he did what was right in the eyes of the LORD." Kings adds the qualification "only the high places were not removed" (2 Kgs 15:35), while Chronicles notes "he did not enter the temple of the LORD" (2 Chr 27:2) — a pointed reference to his father Uzziah's disastrous temple intrusion. Jotham learned from his father's pride: where Uzziah overreached into priestly territory, Jotham maintained proper royal boundaries.
