Significance: Ezra 1:6 records that "all their neighbors supported them with articles of silver and gold, with goods and livestock, and with valuables," fulfilling Cyrus's decree within the same chapter. This intra-chapter cross-reference (from v. 6 to v. 4, or possibly to v. 36 which is likely a verse numbering error) demonstrates immediate obedience to the royal command: the neighbors did exactly what the edict authorized.
