Text: Psalm 106:44-46
OT Text Referred to: 1 Kings 8:28
Subject: Worship and theological reflection
Source: Treasury of Scripture Knowledge
Reference Type: Echo
Connection Method(s): Longitudinal Theme
Significance: In 1 Kings 8:28, Solomon pleads, "Have regard to the prayer of Your servant and his plea... to hear the cry and the prayer that Your servant prays before You today." Psalm 106:44-46 records the fulfillment pattern: "He regarded their distress when He heard their cry (רִנָּתָם, rinnatam); He remembered His covenant for their sake and relented according to the abundance of His steadfast love (חֲסָדָיו, chasadav)." Both texts use the same theological framework of divine hearing in response to human distress. Solomon's prayer anticipates the cycle of sin, suffering, and divine compassion that Psalm 106 retrospectively narrates across Israel's history.
