Text: Psalms 15:1-5
OT Text Referred to: Deuteronomy 16:2
Subject: Temple access requirements (C)
Source: Treasury of Scripture Knowledge
Reference Type: Echo
Connection Method(s): Longitudinal Theme
Significance: Psalm 15 establishes moral qualifications for dwelling in God's tent and standing on His holy mountain. Deuteronomy 16:2 commands offering the Passover sacrifice "at the place the LORD will choose as a dwelling for His Name" (לְשַׁכֵּן שְׁמוֹ שָׁם, leshakken shemo sham). Both texts concern worship at God's chosen dwelling, but from different angles: Deuteronomy prescribes what sacrifice to bring, while the psalm prescribes what character the worshiper must possess. Together they show that legitimate worship requires both correct ritual (the right sacrifice at the right place) and correct character (integrity, justice, truth-telling).
