Text: Psalms 15:1-5
OT Text Referred to: Deuteronomy 16:6
Subject: Temple access requirements (C)
Source: Treasury of Scripture Knowledge
Reference Type: Echo
Connection Method(s): Longitudinal Theme
Significance: Psalm 15:1 asks "LORD, who may dwell (יָגוּר, yagur) in Your tent?" — an entrance-liturgy question about sacred access. Deuteronomy 16:6 specifies that the Passover must be sacrificed "at the place the LORD your God will choose as a dwelling for His Name, there you shall sacrifice the Passover offering at evening." Both texts concern the conditions and location for approaching God, with the "dwelling" (שָׁכַן/גּוּר) motif connecting them. The psalm's ethical requirements function as the spiritual preparation for the pilgrimage worship that Deuteronomy 16 legislates — the worshiper must be morally fit to enter the place where God has caused His Name to dwell.
