Reference Type: Echo
Connection Method(s): Longitudinal Theme
Significance: Psalm 24:3-4 asks "Who may ascend the mountain of the LORD?" and answers with moral qualifications: clean hands, pure heart, no idolatry. Deuteronomy 16:15 commands keeping the Feast of Tabernacles "at the place the LORD will choose" with the promise of divine blessing. Both texts share the theme of appearing before God at His chosen dwelling. The psalm provides the entrance criteria for the worship events that Deuteronomy's festival calendar mandates. The Feast of Tabernacles context is particularly apt, as pilgrims ascending to Jerusalem for the festival would encounter the psalm's entrance-liturgy question at the temple gates.
