Significance: Psalm 24:3-4 establishes moral prerequisites for ascending the LORD's mountain: "clean hands and a pure heart." Deuteronomy 16:2 commands sacrifice of the Passover "at the place the LORD will choose as a dwelling for His Name." Both texts address the requirements for approaching God at His sanctuary — the Psalm from the angle of the worshiper's character, Deuteronomy from the angle of the sacrificial obligation. The connection shows that pilgrimage to the chosen place for Passover and other festivals presupposed the moral readiness the entrance liturgy articulated: the worshiper must come not only with the correct sacrifice but with the correct heart.
