Significance: Deuteronomy 14:26 instructs Israel to feast (אָכַל, akhal) "in the presence of the LORD your God and rejoice with your household" at the chosen sanctuary, purchasing wine, strong drink, and whatever the heart desires. Isaiah 25:6 escalates this command from a local tithe-feast into an eschatological banquet for all nations: "On this mountain the LORD of Hosts will prepare a banquet for all the peoples, a feast of aged wine, of choice meat." The exclusive Israelite feast "before the LORD" at His chosen place becomes universal — all peoples feast on God's mountain. The language of fine wine and rich food intensifies the celebration from ordinary provision to an age of lavish divine abundance.
