Source: Treasury of Scripture Knowledge
Reference Type: Echo
Connection Method(s): Longitudinal Theme
Significance: Isaiah 43:21 declares "The people I formed (יָצַרְתִּי, yatsarti) for Myself will declare My praise (תְּהִלָּתִי, tehillati)," echoing the purpose of the exodus deliverance. After God brought Israel through the Red Sea in Exodus 14, the people's immediate response was praise — the Song of the Sea (Exodus 15). Isaiah identifies the same pattern for the new exodus: God forms a people through deliverance so that they will praise Him. The verb יָצַר (yatsar, "form") connects Israel's identity to both creation (Gen 2:7) and the specific redemptive acts through which God constitutes His people.
