Anchor Text: Exod 12 — The Passover
Significance: Isaiah 52:11-12 commands "Depart! Depart! Go out from there!" (סוּרוּ סוּרוּ צְאוּ מִשָּׁם, suru suru tse'u misham), echoing the original departure from Egypt in Exodus 12:11. However, Isaiah 52:12 marks a crucial contrast with the first exodus: "You will not go out in haste (בְּחִפָּזוֹן, bechippazon), nor will you go in flight" — the exact opposite of Exodus 12:11 where Israel ate the Passover "in haste" (בְּחִפָּזוֹן, bechippazon). The same Hebrew word is deliberately reversed: the first exodus was a panicked flight; the new exodus will be a dignified procession with "the LORD going before you and the God of Israel as your rear guard" (52:12).
