Significance: Both Isaiah 6:1 and Ezekiel 1:26 describe throne-room visions where the prophet sees the LORD enthroned in glory. Isaiah sees "the Lord seated on a throne, high and exalted" (כִּסֵּא רָם וְנִשָּׂא, kisse ram venissa), while Ezekiel sees "above the expanse over their heads was the likeness of a throne... with the appearance of a man" (דְּמוּת כְּמַרְאֵה אָדָם, demut kemar'eh adam). Both visions establish prophetic authority through direct encounter with the divine King. Isaiah's vision emphasizes the seraphim's "Holy, holy, holy" trisagion and the temple filling with smoke; Ezekiel's emphasizes the rainbow-like radiance (כְּבוֹד יְהוָה, kevod YHWH). Together they constitute the two premier throne-theophany visions in the prophetic corpus, sharing the pattern of overwhelming divine glory followed by prophetic commissioning.
