Behold I Send My Messenger
One sentence born in the first exodus — behold, I send my messenger — reworked by the last prophet into the herald of the Lord's own coming, carried into the Gospel, until Jesus takes it on His lips and shifts a single pronoun: the Lord who comes suddenly to His temple is Himself, the face we behold.
