God Opposes the Proud
One wisdom couplet — God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble — recited by psalmist and prophet, sung by Mary, quoted word-for-word by two apostles, and enfleshed at last in the Son who humbled Himself to a cross and was exalted above every name: grace given to the humble, forever.
