Anchor Text: Psalm 110 — The Right-Hand Session and the Melchizedekian Priest

Significance: Paul combines Psalm 110:1 (messianic enthronement) and Psalm 8:6 (Adamic dominion) to present Christ as the Last Adam who restores humanity's intended rule over creation. Through resurrection and exaltation, Christ fulfills both the messianic expectation of sharing Yahweh's throne and the creation mandate of human dominion. Paul's hermeneutical move connects Jewish hopes that "the glory of Adam" would be restored to Israel with the reality that Christ has already begun reclaiming universal sovereignty. The church participates in this restored dominion as Christ's body, experiencing what Second Temple Judaism anticipated but could not achieve - the subjection of all cosmic powers under humanity's feet through the Messiah's victory.
