Isaiah 58:1–14

A. 1 — CRY ALOUD — the word of the LORD declared to his people
B. 2 — ISRAEL'S DELIGHT IN WORSHIP — they seek God daily and delight to know his ways
C. 3a — ISRAEL'S COMPLAINT — their fast not acknowledged
- D. 3b–5 — YHWH ANSWERS — Israel's fast is a travesty (seeking own pleasure, quarrelling, outward show)
- D'. 6–7 — THE FAST YHWH DESIRES — loose bonds of wickedness, feed the hungry, clothe the naked
C'. 8–12 — YHWH WILL ACCEPT ISRAEL — if they practice the true fast, light breaks forth and ruins are rebuilt
B'. 13–14a — ISRAEL TO DELIGHT IN TRUE WORSHIP — call the Sabbath a delight and take delight in the LORD
