Trajectory Tables

A trajectory table takes one Old Testament strand — a person, an institution, an object, a theme — and follows it forward, stage by stage, until it arrives at Christ. Not every strand travels the same road: some are promises kept, some are types fulfilled and surpassed, some are themes that deepen across the centuries, and some are shadows Christ ends by contrast. Each table names the road honestly, so you watch the line bend toward its Lord the way the text itself bends it.
How to read oneStart at the top — the Old Testament stage — and read down the arc to the New Testament fulfillment and its consummation; the Connection Method tells you which kind of road this particular strand travels.

Start here
Adam (The First and Last Adam)The head of the old humanity, answered by the Last Adam.
Passover (Christ Our Passover Lamb)The lamb's blood that turns away death, fulfilled at the cross.
Suffering Servant (Vicarious Atonement)Isaiah's wounded servant who bears the sins of many.
Melchizedek (Priest Forever)A priest-king with no genealogy, foreshadowing an eternal priesthood.
Bronze Serpent (Lifted Up for Healing)Lifted up in the wilderness so the dying might look and live.
Day of Atonement (Christ's Atoning Sacrifice)The one day blood entered the Most Holy Place, fulfilled forever.
Enter by the road to Christ
Rather than browse by subject, enter by the kind of road a text travels to Christ — the seven sound ways Jesus and the apostles read their Bible.
