Significance

Jesus fulfills — and is — the tabernacle/temple as the place of God's dwelling. The phrase "full of grace and truth" alludes to the Hebrew wording of Exodus 34:6 — ḥesed we'emet, "loving devotion and faithfulness" (the MT's wording, not the LXX's) — covenant faithfulness language now finding ultimate expression in incarnate Son. God's glory, once in tabernacle/temple, now revealed in Jesus.
