Nevertheless, Haman restrained himself and went home. And calling for his friends and his wife Zeresh,
In Zechariah 13:7 the LORD Himself summons the sword against "the man who is My Companion": "Strike the Shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered." The striking leads to a refined remnant who "will call on My name" (13:9). In John 16:32 Jesus says, "an hour is coming and has already come when you will be scattered, each to his own home, and you will leave Me all alone." The tie is clear but not a quotation: John's skorpizō (G4650) is cognate with diaskorpizō (G1287) in the Greek of Zechariah 13:7, and "each to his own home" recalls Micaiah's Israel "like sheep without a shepherd" sent to "return home in peace" (1 Kings 22:17). John lets us see the scene from the Shepherd's side: not sheep left alone, but the Shepherd left alone by His sheep. Yet "I am not alone, because the Father is with Me" (16:32), and "take courage; I have overcome the world!" (16:33). The scattering is not the end. He promises, "I will see you again and your hearts will rejoice" (16:22).
