He had been instructed in the way of the Lord and was fervent in spirit. He spoke and taught accurately about Jesus, though he knew only the baptism of John. And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue. When Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him in and explained to him the way of God more accurately.
How quickly they have turned aside from the way that I commanded them! They have made for themselves a molten calf and have bowed down to it. They have sacrificed to it and said, ‘These, O Israel, are your gods, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt.’”
You must walk in all the ways that the LORD your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess.

Significance
Luke twice describes right Christian instruction as "the way": Apollos "had been instructed in the way of the Lord," and Priscilla and Aquila "explained to him the way of God more accurately" (Acts 18:25-26). "The way of the LORD" is OT covenant language for the manner of life God requires and the teaching that describes it — the way Israel was commanded but from which, at the golden calf, they "turned aside from the way that I commanded them" (Exodus 32:8; cf. Deuteronomy 5:33). Where Israel abandoned the way, the church is taught it accurately, corrected and deepened by fellow believers. The gospel does not discard "the way of the Lord" but fills it out: the Christian movement is itself called "the Way" (Acts 9:2), because Christ is himself the way (John 14:6) — the path Israel lost, now walked in him.
