"He led them out and performed wonders and signs in the land of Egypt, at the Red Sea, and for forty years in the wilderness" (Acts 7:36). Stephen presents Moses as the mighty deliverer accredited by God's own works — the very shape of ministry God would authenticate again in "Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with miracles, wonders, and signs" (Acts 2:22). Moses, once rejected, is now shown to be God's chosen redeemer, vindicated by the exodus he accomplished. The signs that marked his deliverance were a genuine, God-given foreshadowing of the greater Deliverer whose works declared the kingdom present and who led the true exodus out of bondage — the God-attested Savior Israel again refused.
