Isaiah 49:6BSB
He says: “It is not enough for You to be My Servant, to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the protected ones of Israel. I will also make You a light for the nations, to bring My salvation to the ends of the earth.”
Paul quotes Isaiah's second Servant Song (49:1-13), where God promises to answer and help the Servant during "the time of favor" and "the day of salvation." Paul declares this eschatological moment has arrived - "Behold, now is the time of favor; now is the day of salvation!" Paul identifies his apostolic ministry with the Suffering Servant's mission to be "a light for the nations," bringing salvation to Gentiles. This is realized eschatology - Isaiah's prophesied restoration from exile is happening through Christ and apostolic proclamation. Paul's subsequent catalog of hardships (6:4-10) mirrors the Servant's afflictions, yet his ministry brings life despite suffering, fulfilling Isaiah 49's promise that the Servant would see offspring and prolong days.
