The lampstand functions as temple furniture representing the whole temple through synecdoche, symbolizing Israel's identity and mission now transferred to the church. Zechariah 4:6's promise "not by might... but by my Spirit" accompanies the lampstand vision, emphasizing that the church's witness depends on Spirit empowerment rather than human strength. The seven lampstands signify divine presence before God's throne and the church's role as light-bearing witness to the nations.
