Exodus 19:6BSB
And unto Me you shall be a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.' These are the words that you are to speak to the Israelites."
At Sinai, before the Decalogue, Yahweh declares Israel's identity: "you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation" (mamleket kōhănîm wəgôy qādôš, Exod 19:6) — a corporate people granted priestly access and a mediatorial vocation toward the nations under Yahweh's own kingship. Revelation 20:6 deploys the kingdom-priests pairing a third time in the Apocalypse (after Rev 1:6 and Rev 5:10), now projected onto the millennial reign: those who share in the first resurrection "will be priests of God and of Christ, and will reign with Him for a thousand years." This is an Echo, not a quotation — John never reproduces the LXX string βασίλειον ἱεράτευμα; he redistributes the priests-and-reign pairing into a fresh apocalyptic clause, so the link is verbal-conceptual rather than citational. The method is Promise-Fulfillment joined to Longitudinal Theme: this is not a prefiguring type but the consummation of a stated word — the Sinai vocation-declaration realized in the redeemed, the same kingdom-priests thread the ATN tracks running Exod 19 → 1 Pet 2:9 → Rev 1:6 / 5:10 / 20:6. What distinguishes this node from Rev 5:10 (which crowns the heavenly worship scene, "they will reign upon the earth") is the millennial frame and the doubled genitive "of God and of Christ": the priesthood Sinai assigned to Yahweh's people is now exercised toward both the Father and the slain-and-risen Lamb, and the reign is no longer merely promised but enacted. The telos: the kingdom-of-priests promise lands not in a status to be admired from afar but in the saints' actual nearness — reigning with Him, serving God and Christ face to face, the unveiled access Sinai's holy mountain held at a trembling distance (Exod 19:12-13) now made the very joy of the resurrected; Christ is here seen as the One in whose company priesthood becomes delight.
