Adam, Seth, Enosh, Kenan, Mahalalel, Jared, Enoch, Methuselah, Lamech. The sons of Noah: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. The sons of Japheth: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras. The sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah. And the sons of Javan: Elishah, Tarshish, the Kittites, and the Rodanites. The sons of Ham: Cush, Mizraim, Put, and Canaan. The sons of Cush: Seba, Havilah, Sabta, Raamah, and Sabteca. The sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan. Cush was the father of Nimrod, who began to be a mighty one on the earth. Mizraim was the father of the Ludites, the Anamites, the Lehabites, the Naphtuhites, the Pathrusites, the Casluhites (from whom the Philistines came), and the Caphtorites. And Canaan was the father of Sidon his firstborn, and of the Hittites, the Jebusites, the Amorites, the Girgashites, the Hivites, the Arkites, the Sinites, the Arvadites, the Zemarites, and the Hamathites. The sons of Shem: Elam, Asshur, Arphaxad, Lud, and Aram. The sons of Aram: Uz, Hul, Gether, and Meshech. Arphaxad was the father of Shelah, and Shelah was the father of Eber. Two sons were born to Eber: One was named Peleg, because in his days the earth was divided, and his brother was named Joktan. And Joktan was the father of Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah, Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah, Obal, Abimael, Sheba, Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab. All these were sons of Joktan. So from Shem came Arphaxad, Shelah, Eber, Peleg, Reu, Serug, Nahor, Terah, and Abram (that is, Abraham).
Significance
These are parallel genealogical records of the Japhethite line from the Table of Nations. Genesis 10:2-4 lists the sons of Japheth (Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, Tiras) and their descendants (Ashkenaz, Riphath, Togarmah; Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, Dodanim). 1 Chronicles 1:5-7 reproduces this identical list with one minor variant (Rodanim for Dodanim, likely a dalet/resh scribal confusion). The Chronicler includes the Japhethite nations not for their own sake but to establish the complete framework of the post-flood world before narrowing to the Shemite-Abrahamic line. Both texts serve the function of mapping all humanity's descent from Noah, with the Japhethites representing the maritime and northern peoples (Gen 10:5).

Redemptive-Historical Progression — the Chronicler reproduces Genesis 10:2-4's Japhethite roster (1 Chr 1:5-7) within his re-narration of the one history from Adam forward: the full post-flood map of the nations is restated so that the narrowing of the line through Shem to Abraham — and on to David — can be traced as the forward movement of redemptive history.
