Earlier text
then the LORD your God will choose a dwelling for His Name. And there you are to bring everything I command you: your burnt offerings and sacrifices, your tithes and special gifts, and all the choice offerings you vow to the LORD.
David prepared a maqom ("place") for the ark in Jerusalem (1 Chr 15:1), echoing Deuteronomy 12:11's promise that the LORD would choose a maqom to make His Name dwell. The Chronicler presents David's designation of Jerusalem as the partial fulfillment of Moses' prophecy about a centralized worship site. By using the same "place" (maqom) terminology, the text links the Mosaic anticipation of a chosen sanctuary to David's concrete action of establishing Jerusalem as the ark's permanent home.
