And David assembled all Israel in Jerusalem to bring up the ark of the LORD to the place he had prepared for it.
Earlier text
Instead, you must seek the place the LORD your God will choose from among all your tribes to establish as a dwelling for His Name, and there you must go.
The Chronicler's account of David assembling all Israel to bring the ark to its prepared place (1 Chr 15:3) directly echoes Deuteronomy 12:5's command to "seek the place the LORD your God will choose...to establish as a dwelling for His Name." Both texts share the key concept of a divinely chosen maqom where God's Name resides. The Chronicler presents David's Jerusalem as the historical answer to Moses' prophetic promise, with the ark's arrival signaling the beginning of centralized Yahwistic worship.
