2 Chronicles 8:12-15BSB

At that time Solomon offered burnt offerings to the LORD on the altar of the LORD he had built in front of the portico. He observed the daily requirement for offerings according to the commandment of Moses for Sabbaths, New Moons, and the three annual appointed feasts—the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the Feast of Weeks, and the Feast of Tabernacles. In keeping with the ordinances of his father David, Solomon appointed the divisions of the priests over their service, and the Levites for their duties to offer praise and to minister before the priests according to the daily requirement. He also appointed gatekeepers by their divisions at each gate, for this had been the command of David, the man of God. They did not turn aside from the king's command regarding the priests or the Levites or any matter concerning the treasuries.

1 Kings 9:25BSB

Three times a year Solomon offered burnt offerings and peace offerings on the altar he had built for the LORD, burning incense with them before the LORD. So he completed the temple.

Significance

Where 1 Kings 9:25 briefly notes that Solomon offered burnt offerings three times a year, the Chronicler expands this into a detailed account of Solomon's liturgical calendar (2 Chr 8:12-15): daily offerings, Sabbath offerings, new moon offerings, and the three annual festivals (Unleavened Bread, Weeks, and Tabernacles). The Chronicler adds that Solomon organized priestly divisions and Levitical duties "in keeping with the ordinances of his father David" (2 Chr 8:14), connecting Solomon's worship to David's organizational blueprint and grounding the Second Temple's liturgical calendar in royal precedent. The parallel further stresses that these burnt offerings (עֹלוֹת, 'olot) and peace offerings (שְׁלָמִים, shelamim) accorded not only with David's arrangement but with "the commandment of Moses," rendering Solomon's worship fully Torah-compliant.

Redemptive-Historical Progression + Longitudinal Theme — 1 Kings 9:25's single-verse notice that Solomon offered burnt and peace offerings three times a year on the altar he had built is re-presented and expanded by the Chronicler into a full worship order (2 Chr 8:12-15): the daily requirement "according to the commandment of Moses," Sabbaths, New Moons, the three annual feasts, and the priestly and Levitical divisions appointed "in keeping with the ordinances of his father David" — advancing the one developing theme of divinely ordered temple worship from Moses' commandment through David's ordinances to Solomon's practice, the pattern the post-exilic community was called to restore.
