Behold, I am about to do something new; even now it is coming. Do you not see it? Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness and streams in the desert. The beasts of the field will honor Me, the jackals and the ostriches, because I provide water in the wilderness and rivers in the desert, to give drink to My chosen people.

Significance
Isaiah 43:19-20 envisions the new exodus surpassing the original: "I will make a way in the wilderness and streams in the desert. The beasts of the field will honor Me... because I provide water in the wilderness." While Exodus 14 records God making a path through the sea for Israel, Isaiah 43 promises a path through the wilderness with abundant water — addressing the hardship that characterized the original wilderness journey after the sea crossing. The exodus from Egypt provided miraculous passage; the new exodus promises miraculous provision. Even the animals of the desert will recognize what God has done.
