Significance

Isaiah 62:10 — "Go out, go out through the gates; prepare the way (פַּנּוּ דֶּרֶךְ, pannu derekh) for the people! Build up the highway (סֹלּוּ הַמְסִלָּה, sollu hamsillah); clear away the stones; raise a banner for the nations!" — is the densest intra-Isaianic reuse of the Isaiah 40:3-4 herald-clause: it carries both the v.3 "prepare the way" imperative and the v.4 highway/stone-clearing language. Its horizon is the widest of the three: where 40:3 prepares the way for Yahweh's own coming and 57:14 clears it for "My people," 62:10 raises a banner "for the nations" — anticipating 40:5's climax that "all humanity together will see" the revealed glory, and Luke's extension that "all flesh shall see the salvation of God" (Luke 3:6). This is the seed of the network's universal reach: the highway Isaiah keeps building is finally the way on which the Lord comes and by which the nations are gathered to see His glory in Christ.
