Moreover, stand in the Holy Place by the divisions of the families of your kinsmen the lay people, and by the divisions of the families of the Levites.
Ezekiel 44:11 assigns Levites as gatekeepers and sacrificial assistants in the eschatological temple, echoing 2 Chronicles 35:5 where Josiah commands the Levites to "stand in the Holy Place by the divisions of the families of your kinsmen the lay people." Both texts position the Levites as intermediary servants between the lay worshippers and the Zadokite/Aaronic priests. The shared functional role—Levites serving at the threshold between common and holy space—demonstrates that Ezekiel's visionary temple preserves the priestly hierarchy of Israel's best liturgical tradition while grounding it in the eschatological context of permanent divine presence.
