Earlier text
In my vision in the night I continued to watch, and I saw One like the Son of Man coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into His presence. And He was given dominion, glory, and kingship, that the people of every nation and language should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and His kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.

And by the seventh day God had finished the work He had been doing; so on that day He rested from all His work. Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because on that day He rested from all the work of creation that He had accomplished.

Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God, on which you must not do any work—neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant or livestock, nor the foreigner within your gates. For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth and the sea and all that is in them, but on the seventh day He rested. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and set it apart as holy.
The Sabbath was God's own rest (Gen. 2:2-3), given as covenant sign (Exod. 31:12-17), marking Israel's identity. To claim lordship over it asserts authority equal to its institutor. The "Son of Man" title links to Daniel 7's figure sharing the divine throne and exercising cosmic authority. Mark has built to this claim: unprecedented teaching authority, forgiving sins, controlling unclean spirits, now mastering the Sabbath itself. Eschatologically, if Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath, he inaugurates the ultimate Sabbath rest. This watershed moment forces a decision: blasphemer or Yahweh's authorized representative.
