And chose three thousand men from the men of Israel. And there were with Saul two thousand in Michmash, and in the mountain of Beth-el, and a thousand were with Jonathan in Gibeah of Benjamin. And the rest of the people he sent out, each man unto his tent.
And Jonathan struck the Nasib of the Philistines, the one in the hill. And heard and Saul trumped in all the land, saying, disregard us
And all Israel heard, saying, Saul has smitten the Nasib of the Philistines; and Israel was put to shame by the Philistines. And ascended up after Saul in Gilgal.
And the Philistines gather together for war against Israel. And they ascend upon Israel for war thirty thousand chariots, and six thousand horsemen, and people as the sand by the edge of the sea in the multitude. And they ascend and camp in Michmash opposite according to of Beth-aven.
And of Israel beheld that they were in a strait to not lead forward and hid in the caves, and in the lairs, and in the rocks, and in the excavations, and in the pits.
And the ones passing over, passed over the Jordan into of Gad and Gilead. And Saul still was in Gilgal, and all the people were receded after him.
And he stopped seven days, testimony as Samuel said. And did not unto Gilgal, and scattered from him.
And Saul said, Lead forward animals so that I should offer a whole burnt-offering, and peace offerings; and he offered the whole burnt-offering.
And it came to pass as he completed offering the whole burnt-offering, that behold, Samuel arrived. And Saul came forth to meet him, to bless him.
And Samuel said, What have you done? And Saul said, Because I saw that scattered from me, and you did not come in the testimony of the days as you set in order, and the Philistines were gathered together in Michmash,
and I said, Now shall come down to me in Gilgal, and the face of the I beseeched not; and I took control myself and offered the whole burnt-offering.
And Samuel said to Saul, It is folly to you that you kept not my commandment which gave charge As your kingdom over Israel unto
And now your kingdom shall not stand with you. And for himself a man according to his heart. And to him for ruler over his people, for you did not keep as many things as gave charge
And Samuel rose up and went forth from out of Gilgal unto of Benjamin. And Saul numbered the people being found with him, about six hundred men.
And Saul and Jonathan his son, and the people being found with him, stayed in Gibeah of Benjamin. And the Philistines camped in Michmash.
And to destroy out of of the Philistines in three companies. The company looking upon of Ophrah, towards the land of Shual.
And company looking upon of Beth-horon. And company looking upon of Gibeah, the one looking towards Gai, the Zeboim wilderness.
And a fabricator of iron was not found in all the land of Israel, for said Perhaps will make a broadsword and spear.
And went down into of the Philistines, to forge his own reaping hook, and his utensil, and each his axe, and his sickle.
And was prepared to harvest. But for the items there was a charge of three shekels for the tooth, and to the axe, and to the sickle; was the same.
And it came to pass in the days of the war, that there was not found broadsword and spear in of all the people, of the one with Saul and Jonathan. But it was found Saul and Jonathan his son.
And went forth the place on the other side of Michmash.
