Job 2

Job 2 - 1

And it came to pass as this day occurred, and came the sons of the God to stand before the lord. And the devil came in the midst of them to stand before the lord.

Job 2 - 2

And said the lord to the devil, From what place do you come? Then said the devil before the lord, Traveling over the place under heaven, and walking about the whole the place at hand.

Job 2 - 3

And said And the lord to the devil, Have you taken heed then to my attendant Job, that there is not according to him of the ones upon the earth, a man not wicked, true, blameless, godly, and at a distance from all evil? But still he has innocence, but you spoke the substance without cause to destroy.

Job 2 - 4

Undertaking But the devil, said to the lord, Skin for skin, and all as much as exists to a man for his life he will give.

Job 2 - 5

But in fact, but you send your hand to touch his bones and his flesh, assuredly in your face he will rave.

Job 2 - 6

And said And the lord to the devil, Behold, I deliver him to you, only his life you guard!

Job 2 - 7

And went forth the devil from the lord, and smote Job with sore severe from feet unto head.

Job 2 - 8

And he took to himself a potsherd so as the pus to scrape; and he sat down within the ashes.

Job 2 - 9

And said to him his wife, Until how long will you persevere? But speak any word to God, and come to an end!

Job 2 - 10

And he, looking to her said, Why as one of the foolish women did you speak? If the good things we looked for from the hand of the lord, the bad shall we not endure? In all these things, the ones coming to pass to him, not one thing Job sinned with his lips before the lord.

Job 2 - 11

hearing And the three friends his bad things all coming upon him, came each from their own place to him. Eliphaz the Temanite—a king, Baldad the Shuhite—a sovereign, Zophar the Minaean—a king. And they came to him with one accord to comfort and visit him.

Job 2 - 12

And seeing him at a distance, they did not recognize him. And they yelled voice with a great, and wept, tearing each his own apparel, and strewing earth.

Job 2 - 13

And they sat beside him seven days and seven nights, and not one of them spoke to him a word; for they saw the calamity awful being, and great it was exceedingly.
